About Us:


Role:

Alberta Parks is an extensive network of 473 parks and protected areas.

(RAP) is the online reservation system for Alberta Parks, managing over 14,000 campsites, 170 group camping areas, 73 comfort camping units and 17 backcountry campgrounds.

Your role as Parks Retail and Reservations Planner is key to the daily coordination and operations of RAP, directly training and supporting the 500 staff members that use the system to manage their campgrounds and services.


Reporting to the Parks Retail and Reservations Team Lead, the Parks Retail and Reservations Planner shares responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day coordination and operational support of for all stakeholders.

This position works directly with Contact Centre staff to manage caller customer information services. This position also works closely with an IT vendor and Service Alberta staff to support the reservation solution.


Your work will:


  • Assist in the ongoing analysis, evaluation, improvement and growth of the solution
  • Support modern and effective retail and reservation services for Alberta Parks
  • Manage data verification and daily data updates including fees, amenities, status, photos, maps, messaging, etc.
  • Complete User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on any new functionality or solution changes
  • Manage daily operations including overseeing IT issues, field staff/campground contract operator troubleshooting, transaction reviews, refund exception requests, customer complaints, etc.
  • Research, coordinate and write various communications (updates, newsletters, web content), that keeps staff, management and stakeholders informed about the program.

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:


  • University graduation in a field related to Business, Information Systems Management, Tourism or Retail plus 2 years directly related experience in progressively more responsible positions.

Equivalency:
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Additional assets:


  • Experience with Park operations and/or campground operations.
  • Experience in camping reservation and registration solutions. Experience working with IT software solutions to manage data systems.
  • Experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression testing including setting up test cases, automated testing, ticketing solutions.
  • Experience with responding to informational requests and customer complaints.
  • Experience managing projects and facilitating decision making.
  • Experience in Contact Centre operations.

Salary:

$2,588.06 to $3,397.76 bi-weekly. ($67,548- $88,681 / year)

A salary review is in progress and may result in this salary being increased on
September 1, 2023.
