Position Summary:


The Project Manager Lead, reporting to the Director of Strategy for MB Canada, is focused on providing project management leadership to successfully deliver enterprise-wide projects and to enable achievement of the Strategic Plan.

This is a highly visible role collaborating with all levels of stakeholders across the organization to ensure rapid and effective closure of business gaps and opportunities.


Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Project Management Accountability_
  • Leads multiple initiatives of varying scope aimed at delivering new programs, initiatives, products and/or services.
  • Work closely with project sponsors to develop the project charter, define the project scope, goals, objectives, approach, methodology and communication plans.
  • Utilize project management methodologies in managing projects via effective planning, resource procurement, meeting planning/facilitation, conflict resolution, risk mitigation, status reporting, etc.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently that are at various stages in the project life cycle up to and including the closure and operationalization.
  • Actively monitor and control project scope, plans, risk management and change requests throughout the project life cycle.
  • Identify and share best practice across the business as well as within the cross functional departments and comparative industry sectors.
  • Motivate and effectively manage multidisciplinary project teams, to ensure that project delivery expectations are clearly defined and met.
  • Facilitate the identification and documentation of business requirements with key stakeholders, working jointly with the cross functional teams impacted implementation including HR, Supply Chain, Operations and/or IT on projects from process improvement initiatives to implementation/upgrades.
  • Support Director, Strategy in overseeing the execution of the roadmap initiatives and objectives, in alignment to the organization's global strategy.
  • Communicate internally and externally the strategy narrative, articulating strategy and tactics to execute the strategic roadmap.
  • Ensure that all business activities, objectives and imperatives meet and integrate with organizational requirements for world class project management and thought leaders in innovation.
  • Execute worldclass reporting strategy to produce indepth analysis on key business improvement metrics and projects.
  • Complete, and contribute to, regular project status reports for Senior Leadership Team in a clear and concise manner, including raising decisions/approvals/issues through applicable means in a timely manner to drive project success.
  • Conduct business process analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Manage and complete Post Implementation Reviews for all projects, ensuring lessons learned are documented.
  • Engage effectively with project sponsors to reach a mutually acceptable agreement on project objective, scope, deliverables, timeframes, resources, and outcomes
  • Drive and support a culture of continuous improvement, maintain and disseminate awareness and knowledge of best practices used by Martin Brower globally and industry leaders.
  • Be responsible for measuring the realization of benefits from the strategic plan ensuring reporting and action is taken to minimize cost and maximize profitability.
Management Accountability

  • Responsible for a team, including directing project scope, responsibilities, and expectations of deliverables.
  • Set team member(s) annual performance goals, development plans, providing feedback on continuous improvement and support in continued development.
  • Influence and engage team to maintain strong levels of team engagement.
  • Ensure the operations follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP)/Good Drivers Practices (GDP) for transport rules and regulations.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Bachelors' degree in supply chain or other related field and 4+ years project management experience
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects of varying size and scope while ensuring completion on time and on budget
  • Ability to manage through influence and drive change
  • Motivated and capable of acting independently and prioritize work based on organizational needs
  • Proven analytic and problemsolving skills including experience in gathering & analyzing business functional and data requirements
  • Excellent computer literacy, able to manipulate data quickly and produce professional reports and presentations
  • Highly selfmotivated, proactive, and creative. Able to work effectively with little or no supervision, mínimal direction, and frequent interruptions.
