As part of our Quality Control Team, you will be a key component in raw materials and finished[JW1] products testing processes to ensure that they conform to Cannabis regulations and Pure Sunfarms' standards.
You are a collaborator and are involved in-depth with assisting the Production team in providing recommendation on quality aspect of processes and continuously supporting from a Quality standpoint to ensure we deliver top-quality products.
This position is a temporary full-time 12-month contract.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Product inspection
- Inspect batches to be allocated for Commercial sale to ensure the product quality is remaining up to Pure Sunfarms' best practices and standards
- Oversee batches bounded for international sale to assure the product quality to the client
- Audit potential quality issue batches in Post Harvest, Retail Packaging and in storage, and returned product to aid quality investigation
- Facilitate product review session with the Wholesale team and their client upon request for quality visibility on review
Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) Inspection
- Collect, inspect AQL Inspection samples, following AQL criteria, and communicate result with QA for release/hold of the material inspected
- Collect Retention Samples for incoming cannabis/noncannabis material
- Document AQL Inspection results following Pure Sunfarms' best documentation storage practices
- Report the nonconformities, if any, to the QA Manager and Director
Production Processing
- Assist processing team in quality aspect to establish relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each of the processes performed by the team.
- Audit each process performed by processing team to gain snapshots of current process performance.
- Analyze collected data from the audit and communicate with stakeholders of the process performance.
Batch Release Support
- Review documents from rooting to bulk packaging for batch release purposes
- Log in any corrections required in the records, in case of anomalies
- Fill out and review bulk batch review summary record forms in order to complete batch releases adequately
OTHER DUTIES
At Pure Sunfarms, we are all growers at heart.
Our plants and processes require in-person care and attention to ensure we're bringing the best our plants and people have to offer to our consumers.
This means other duties may arise since we work together to ensure we support all business activities - seed to sale.
This role is on-site, which requires you to work in Pure Sunfarms facility at all times in an operating role or directly supporting operations.
The shifts will be consistently rotating every 2 weeks - they will be from 7:00am-3:30pm, 9:00am-530pm, and 2:00pm-10:30pm for experience between Quality Technicians and Specialists to be distributed.
This position is a temporary full-time 12-month contract.
YOUR BRAND, YOUR STORY
We already know you love the quality aspects and ensuring lab standards are met in every production step, but we want to know more about your strengths.
Your qualifications include the following:
- Post-Secondary graduate in Science, or a related field
- Relevant handson experience and knowledge with in Good Production Practices (GPP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
- Good understanding of supply chain and in process control
- Experience establishing and maintaining versioncontrolled standards, policies, procedures, and workflows
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a focus on details, while working in a dynamic, fastpaced environment
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Attention to detail and excellent communication, both verbal and written skills
- Ability to manage priorities to meet changing business requirements and deadlines
- Empathetic attitude with a passion to drive results
- Knowledge of Punjabi is an asset
- Must have the ability to maintain and pass an RCMP criminal record check and obtain security clearance.
