Corporate Legal Assistant:


Watson Goepel LLP is a growing and dynamic full-service law firm based in downtown Vancouver with additional offices located in the Metro Vancouver area.

We are currently seeking a
Corporate Legal Assistant to join our Corporate Services Department in our Vancouver office. This is a new position in the department that will report to the Corporate Services Supervisor.

Role and Responsibilities:


  • Conducting BC Online, Corporations Canada, and Land Title searches
  • Preparing BC Transparency Reports
  • Production and filing of annual maintenance for specific lawyers and partners
  • Assisting corporate clerks with an overflow for billing for corporate services department, including annual maintenance billing, preparing reports for annual maintenance, and reviewing returned annual reports, reminders
  • Invoicing production for BC Transparency, Land Title Owner Transparency, Annual maintenance, and general corporate transactions
  • Maintaining the ALF database including creating new cards for incoming record books
  • Preparing documents for director and officer changes
  • Sending minute books out for registered and records office changes
  • Scanning records and establishing virtual minute books
  • Maintaining the ALF database including creating new cards for incoming record books
  • Preparing documents for transactional work such as director/officer changes, change of registered and records office, and assisting in the production of other corporate transactions as applicable
  • Production of closing binders
  • Maintain Smartsheet databases for various projects
  • Incoming record book reviews
  • File opening
  • Drafting routine correspondence with clients, lawyers, and department staff
  • Performing conflict searches
  • Coverage of vacations for clerks and paralegal work, as assigned
  • Other tasks as required

Job requirements:


  • Successful completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal program from an accredited institution
  • 13 years of experience working in a law firm or office environment
  • Experience working in Elite an asset
  • Experience working in ALF an asset
  • Experience working with Land Title
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Solid proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Comfortable using step stools/ladders and lift 10lbs
