Summary


As a Banquet MaitreD', you will be responsible for overseeing social and corporate events, such as weddings, galas and conferences.

Your main role will be to ensure excellent customer service at conferences and events.

As such, you will be responsible for all aspects of the event, ensuring that customers' expectations are met while they are on site at the hotel.

You will work closely with all departments within the hotel to ensure the success of each event. When required, this position also includes supervisory duties for all other food & beverage outlets within the property.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure exceptional customer service by anticipating and exceeding customer needs and expectations.
  • Oversee upcoming events, taking into account previous meeting history and customer expectations.
  • Lead the inhouse events: social and corporate events, such as weddings, galas and conferences.
  • Ensure the smooth running of meals and coffee breaks;
  • Supervise and manage the banquet team: recruitment, training, performance management and coaching.
  • Motivate, supervise, train and coach service employees under his/her responsibility;
  • Distribute work and plan schedules for servers and team members;
  • Perform administrative tasks related to payroll and tip distribution, and the client billings;
  • Ensure optimal quality of customer service and satisfaction during and after service delivery, and handle complaints if necessary;
  • Organize setup and breakout of banquet rooms;
  • Participate in the coordination of events and ensure that they run smoothly;
  • Ensure effective communication within the department and with other hotel departments;
  • Ensure optimal use of all facilities and respect established budgets;
  • Carry out daily inspections of service areas and ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation and occupational health and safety standards;
  • Work in collaboration with sales & events, kitchen and audiovisual suppliers to meet the guests' needs.
  • Establish and maintain an ongoing relationship with customers during the event, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of event trends to offer customized solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures and service standards.

Qualifications

  • Attestation of Collegial Studies (AEC) or Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in hotel or restaurant management or banqueting;
  • A minimum of two (2) years' relevant experience in a similar position;
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Knowledge of Squirrel software and the CI/TY system will be considered an asset.

Salary:
From $55,000.00 per year

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:


  • Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
