**MASTER LECTURER POSITION IN SCIENCE COMMUNICATION**- Science Communication._ The preferred start date is September 1, 2023.
several courses in the Master's program in Science Communication, including SCOM 5016 Audiences
and Issues, SCOM 5056 Design Theory in Science Communication, SCOM 5106 Communicating
Science through Traditional Media, and others. A commitment to excellence in teaching at the post
following essential qualifications:
- A BSc degree (any discipline) and a Masters or PhD degree in _Science Communication_
- Demonstrated teaching competency in science communication topics such as understanding
writing, social media), design thinking for effective communication, graphic design and

The School of Natural Sciences is the newest and largest academic unit in the Faculty of Science,
Engineering & Architecture. Our faculty members are actively involved in research projects covering a
wide range of fields, including science communication, environmental biology, biomedical science,
forensic toxicology, materials science, neurobiology, zoology as well as applied and theoretical
chemistry. The unit boasts Canada Research Chairs, and houses the Center for Evolutionary Ecology
and Ethical Conservation as well as the Vale Living with Lakes Center, a world-renowned research
center on the big environmental issues of our day.
The Science Communication Graduate Program is the only one of its kind in Canada and is
delivered in partnership with the world renown science centre, Science North. As the national leader in
graduate education in science communication, our regional, provincial and national partnerships
enhance the experience and opportunities for our graduate students. The program prides itself on
attracting excellent students and providing a supportive environment where students may thrive.
