Description
We are looking for an energetic Analyst, Financial Reporting who will report directly to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting. In this role you will be responsible for contributing to the preparation of the OMERS consolidated financial statements.

This role will assist with the monthly close activities, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany invoicing, and support the enhancement of process documentation and improvements.

The individual will build close working relationships with the Corporate Finance team and finance teams across the enterprise.

In this role you will demonstrate experience with financial close processes, a strong attention to detail and an eagerness to be apart of a winning culture.

You will have opportunities to engage with external auditors, work alongside individuals across all levels of the organization, and develop new skillsets for growing your career.

The person who fills this role will be a key member of the OMERS Corporate Finance team

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Preparing and performing peer reviews of monthly journal entries and accruals
Submitting intercompany invoices and supporting finance teams to substantiate invoice details
Preparing monthly account reconciliations, including intercompany accounts, investigating, and resolving differences in a timely manner
Preparing process documentation
Identifying and supporting process improvements
Assisting in accounting standards research and documentation
Coordinating with external auditors for fieldwork
Collaborating with a team of professional accountants, strengthening culture and community, and driving excellence and expertise
Participating in technical training and development opportunities
Other contributions, as the team may need and as opportunities arise


To succeed in this role, you have:1-3 years experience in similar corporate financial reporting roles with a solid understanding of financial reporting close processes
Post-secondary degree in business, accounting, or finance
A CPA professional or working towards the designation
A team player with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with numerous priorities and reporting deadlines
Self-starter able to work independently
A dedication to accuracy and timeliness
A good understanding of finance systems, where experience with Oracle would be an asset
