Midterm Planner:

Musselwhite Mine


Purpose:


The Midterm Planer will provide direction and technical support to the mine operations and technical services teams by creating, maintaining, and communicating mid-range mine plans and schedules.

This position will report directly to the Senior Engineer - Mine Planning.


Essential Duties:


  • Create, maintain, and communicate the midterm (3 year) mine plans and schedules throughout the business planning and forecast process.
  • Generate reports on mine performance KPIs and schedule compliance
  • Review the short term mine plan against the mid term mine plan while providing feedback to the short term planning and execution teams.
  • Support continuous improvement ("Full Potential") initiatives by completing analysis and data collection to support mine growth.
  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Conduct oneself in accordance with Newmont's Values and all company procedures and policies.
  • Review mine layouts as part of design sign off processes.
  • Create conceptual designs and sequences of active and future mining areas.

Training & Experience:


  • Understand principals of mine ventilation systems, ground control systems, and underground longhole drill and blast design,
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening)
  • Excellent analytical, problemsolving and decision making abilities
  • Efficient using, Deswik CAD, IS, SCHED, or equivalent software
  • Underground work experience considered an asset
  • Ability to positively interact with coworkers and team members

Working Conditions:


  • The work schedule for this position is 14 days on, 14 days off, working 12hour days.
  • Based in Musselwhite mine site located in Ontario.
