Description

VRS Communities Society is looking for *1 Part-Time and 1 Casual Health Care Aide *to join our team at our site in Salmon Arm, Andover Terrace Seniors Community.

Higher end of the wage range is reflective of the government wage-levelling rate.\*\
*The Care Aide provides direct care to residents at the site and assists the residents in participating in all activities of daily living in a home-like setting. Complies with the facility policies and procedures pertaining to the care of the residents.
Tends to laundry, housekeeping and food service duties as required and time permits.
Participates in group activities as time from giving care allows.
Provides residents with gentle, respectful, safe care at all times.
Attends staff meetings and education and training programs as required.
Reports any concerns or observations accurately on the resident's health record and to co-workers.
Follows individual resident care plans. Needs to be aware of any residents with food allergies or sensitivities.
*Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.

Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to provide performance through management feedback.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Completion of a Care Aide (HCA) program or equivalent.
BC Care Aide Registration.
Current First Aid & CPR
Food Safe Certificate.
Geriatric experience is considered an asset.

*Must be able to speak English fluently and communicate effectively both verbally and in the composition of written materials.

Dayshift: 7:00am-3:00pm; Evening: 3:00pm-11:00pm;
