FSL106H5S Functional French-Advanced Beginner

Course description:

Through the use of teaching materials adapted to their level, students will continue to develop their linguistics abilities and to use them in specific situations.

For instance, students will learn how to ask for information, how to refuse or accept an offer. On completion of this course, a linguistic system of basic but useful structures will have been assimilated. An awareness of various francophone cultures and communities will be developed.

Salary:

Sessional Lecturer I - $9,182.42 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $9,641.55 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer II - $9,826.96 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $10,025.84 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer III - $10,060.93 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $10,262.15 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail._

Minimum qualifications:

Graduate-level degree in French Studies is required.

Demonstrated experience teaching French-as-a-second-language university-level courses is required.

(Near-)native spoken and written French proficiency is required.

Preferred qualifications:

Demonstrated excellence in teaching this course, or a similar course at the university level, is preferred.

Proven record of strength in teaching/facilitating student language learning is preferred.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II and Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.
