The Smelter Director is an integral part of the Sudbury INO Senior Management Team and reports to the Vice President of Operations.

Through effective leadership, the Smelter Director will be required to establish the strategic vision and direction to effectively manage operations while meeting all safety, production, metallurgical, environmental, and budgetary objectives.

While this role is located in Falconbridge, Ontario, it has significant impact on operational results which support Glencore's Nikkelverk operations in Norway, Raglan Mine in northern Quebec and the long-term future of Glencore in Sudbury.

The incumbent will be directly responsible for the Sudbury Smelter, the hub of Glencore's nickel sulfide business, and Glencore's operations at the Port of Quebec in Quebec City.

The incumbent must be capable of developing, leading and implementing strategic business initiatives as they relate to Glencore's Health, Safety, Environment, Community and Human Rights (HSEC and HR) Standards.

The role requires an individual who is capable driving continuous improvement and seeking and securing Custom Feeds and other opportunities, that support overall strategic business needs.

The Sudbury Smelter currently employs approximately 360 employees.
