Job Title:
HR Summer Student (3-month contract)


Department:
Human Resources Services


Reports To:
Manager, Human Resources


Summary:

Provides administrative support to Human Resources Department by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Includes the following, other duties may be assigned):

  • Create electronic employee database by converting current paper files to electronic documents.
  • Assist with new hire documentation and other types of routine correspondence as required.
  • Processes and maintains employee data (such as new hires, promotions, terminations, etc) in the SAP system.
  • Prepares invoices for approval, allocating costs to appropriate plans, accounts and monitors payment from a number of sources.
  • Ensures documentation is in appropriate individual files.
  • Assists with the preparation of training and presentation materials, including PowerPoint presentations, training manuals and aids. Schedules training facilities, reserves equipment as requested
  • May be required to gather, organize and consolidate information from a number of different sources for reporting purposes. Maintains corporate directory.
  • Organizes and maintains file system and files correspondence and other materials.
  • May be required to assist with recruitment efforts for corporate positions.

Computer Skills:


To perform this job successfully, an individual should be detail oriented and have knowledge of basic Microsoft programs; advanced excel spreadsheet software and advanced Word Processing software, intermediate knowledge of PowerPoint.

Experience with SAP software is an asset but not required.


Education and Experience:

Student must be currently enrolled in a university or College level HR/Business related program.
