ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional that is quick-minded, self-directed, and energetic, is a strong people leader, is experienced with improving systems, and has prior experience in a controller role within the construction and real estate development industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
- Develop and manage internal controls and guidelines for budget accounting, cashflow and credit management, purchase order process, administration and other accounting activities.
- Responsible for managing the consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate accounting of business results, internal financial statements, and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Analyzing reports and data, providing management information vital to decisionmaking.
- Managing the budget process and creating budgets and forecasts for new projects and potential acquisitions.
- Managing monthly Project Progress Draws.
- Assessing current accounting operations including softwares; offering recommendations and leading process improvements and implementations, as needed.
- Provide leadership and support to the accounting team, work closely with projects team.
- Oversee the preparation of payroll for multiple companies.
- Participate in hiring and training of accounting staff.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Proven work experience in senior accounting, finance or related field within the construction and real estate industry.
- A driven, motivated, selfdirected, and a detail orientated leader are the key attributes for success.
- Understanding of applicable laws, federal regulations on taxes, reporting and compliance.
- Advanced knowledge of full cycle accounting, reporting, payroll, accounts payable, project accounting, progress draws.
- Advanced computer skills, specifically in excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, problemsolve, and implement new processes.
- Excellent organization, planning and timemanagement skills.
