Summary
The Service and Repair Manager is responsible to plan, organize, schedule, direct, and manage the Service and Repair operations.

They are responsible for driving results related to safety, quality, cost, and delivery by developing short and long-term planning strategies.

They will coordinate the Repair team to meet customer requirements and work closely with the Manufacturing Manager to ensure targets are met.


Job Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage Service and Repair personnel to ensure processes are within budget and time schedule
  • Responsible for the company's customer service program and answer calls as required
  • Lead, manage and hold accountable all direct reports
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all customer and coordinator technical questions
  • Direct, control, and evaluate the daily operations on the floor for product flow and quality
  • Develop and manage production schedules for Hydraulics, Honing, Chrome, Repair Machinist and Shipping departments, determine labour gaps in production, and react based on relevant information
  • Coordinate with Service and Repair Coordinator and Supervisor to prioritize production planning. Manage execution and alignment with production outsourcing and inventory requirements
  • In coordination with the QHSE Coordinator, identify and prioritize quality improvement opportunities, develop sustainable action plans, investigate warranty claims, and help provide customer responses where required
  • Support the safety culture by encouraging staff to identify new hazards, ensure action related to incidents are executed, improve methods of controlling/reducing risk
  • Monitor division Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including Conformance to Schedule, Direct Labor Variance, Overall Equipment Efficiency, and others as developed
  • Participate in and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis processes related to RHK's strategy
  • Liaise with department heads (Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Inside Sales and Manufacturing) to ensure RHK is delivering innovative, responsive, and reliable service to customers
  • Attend weekly meetings to communicate production results and plan future production objectives

Requirements:


  • Secondary school diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • Post-Secondary Diploma, Degree, or Certification in industrial technologies, hydraulic systems, mechanics, millwright, or electronics an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience supervising or managing in Service and Repair environment required
  • Hydraulic Cylinder experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP or MRP software required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills
  • Knowledge of processdriven operations preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of reading and interpreting drawings and specifications in support of quality requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of precision measuring instruments such as ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales
  • Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment required to do the job
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to read and write English
  • Highly organized and selfmotivated
  • Must be adaptable to changing work environments and competing demands and is able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events

Working Environment

  • This position requires individuals to safely be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, mechanical parts, and vibration
  • May be exposed to noise levels and sounds that might be loud or distracting
  • This position is active, and requires standing, walking, bending, sitting
  • Use of PPE, including safety glasses and steeltoe boots required
