Description

This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing and organizing basic field engineering data to develop design layouts and all engineering documentation required for a complete functional design.

This position is supporting our Telecon Design Team based in Carp, ON.

Responsibilities

Collects aerial and underground field data for pole line engineering data;
Performs site surveys to collect, analyze and organize basic engineering data to develop design layouts and prepare all engineering documentation required for a complete functional design;
Prepares layouts and detail drawings with complex assemblies from notes, verbal instructions and rough or detailed sketches;
Liaison with internal and external customers, developers, municipal officials and other approving authorities to remove roadblocks and obtain the necessary approvals of the design drawings;
Prepare accurate documentation to track time, expenses and events for billing purpose;
Adheres to all health and safety guidelines;
Any and all other duties as assigned in order to meet Company objectives.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a Surveyor Role is an asset; or in Telecommunications industry;
Experience in Outside Plant design and field experience is considered an asset;
Experience in drafting design tools (i.e. AutoCAD) is considered an asset;
Must have a valid fullG driver's license and no more than 4 demerit points;
Must have access to a personal vehicle in order to get to our office;
Must be willing to travel when required (within the 613 area code);
Must follow safe work practices and abide by all safety rules and regulations;
Ability to work in any and all weather conditions;
Ability to lift up to 30lbs;
Demonstrated professional oral and written communication skills;
Abilities in planning and organizing to meet scheduled deadlines;
Demonstrated effective decisionmaking skills while under limited supervision;
Selfmotivated, works well with minimum or no direct supervision;
Willing to work various shifts to meet client requirements;
Ability to effectively handle both favorable and unfavorable customer interactions;
Demonstrated ability to identify problems and situations, take appropriate action, implement solutions or escalate as required;
Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and collaboratively with other departments and clients;
Maintain a high level of performance under the pressure of time constraints in a fastpaced changing environment;
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
