    Patient Registration Clerk Patient Registration (Job ID: 4300)

Join our team in our mission to continue to put patients and families at the centre of everything we do, in the role of Patient Registration Clerk - Patient Registration.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Registers patients for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency visits, quickly and accurately with the utmost in customer service.
    • Pre-registers patients for inpatient and outpatient visits.
    • Collects accommodation and insurance information and payment for services where applicable.
    • Responds to inquiries made by patients and visitors.
    • Responds to telephone inquiries and forwards calls where appropriate.
    • Liaises with patients, other department staff, and external customers.
    • Assists with other tasks as required in Admitting and other registration areas.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum accurate typing speed of 40wpm required.
    • Previous data entry experience required.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.
    • Ability to prioritize duties, problem solve and accurately carry out detailed work in a fast paced environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to interact with others in a co-operative, facilitative and professional manner through all circumstances.
    • Must have an excellent punctuality and attendance record.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Previous experience in a hospital Admitting or registration department would be an asset.
    • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of St. Michael's Hospital.

    HOURS:

    Casual, all shifts as required. Monday - Sunday / or or
