The Lycée Français de Toronto is an educational institution from the very small section to the terminale (Pre K-Gr 12), offering a program from the French Ministry of Education up to the French Baccalaureate, with the American international option.

It is part of a network of more than 500 French schools around the world, affiliated with the Agency for French Education Abroad.

The position is located at the Lycée Français de Toronto, 2327 Dufferin St in Toronto.


Job Summary

  • Reporting to the Head of School, the Development Manager will work closely with the Board of Directors, the Head of School, administrative services and leaders of all departments of the LFT.The essence of the activities and assignments place this position in contact with the larger school community. They act in accordance with the operating rules of a French school, but also with Ontario regulations.
    Responsibilities and Duties
  • The Development Manager assists the leadership team in the development and management of LFT's philanthropic activities. They are responsible for the development, planning and execution of fundraising initiatives with potential and current donors.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Develop an integrated fundraising strategy including major gifts, annual giving and recognition

  • Develop an annual action plan for the development of philanthropic projects and solicitations
  • Research fundraising opportunities
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of potential and active individual and corporate donors
  • Write and submit funding proposals to potential donors, including individual, corporate and foundation donors
  • Manage the design and organization of fundraising events, including the annual fundraising event, and ensure their coordination
  • Work with the Communications Department to develop a marketing strategy, as well as create various solicitation tools, presentation documents and visibility plans
  • Develop and maintain a network of key collaborators within the French, Francophone and Francophile community, as well as an external network relevant to project deployment
  • Measure and communicate fundraising results to various stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Manage the database with the help of a philanthropic management software.
  • Ensure that the Head of School and other leadership team members are informed, mentored and supported in their philanthropic work on behalf of the LFT
  • Build good relationships with staff, members of the public and the media

Qualifications and RequirementsUniversity degree in public relations, communications, cultural organization management or equivalent

  • A minimum of five (5) years experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in a non profit organization
  • Professional fundraising certification is an asset (CFRE or other)
  • Very good command of the Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Excellent oral and written skills in French and English
  • Good knowledge of donor management software
  • Experience with the Veracross fundraising module is an asset

ContractLocal contract under the LFT collective agreement as an administrative staff member

  • Probationary period of three (3) months, then permanent position.
  • Weekly schedule: 37.5 hours/week, possibility of working from home in hybrid mode
  • Weekday schedule, with evenings and weekends as needed
