    Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the Systems Analyst maintains the County computer, communication/dispatch, network, and telephone systems. The position is also responsible for but not limited to providing technical support for computers, tablets, radios and mobile phones and various applications.

    Key Responsibilities Include: Position Responsibilities

    Systems Administration and Maintenance
    • Maintain and update FDM, Cams, Pro-Q-A, Report Exec, QGIS, Avanti, Questica, Dynamics, Pearl, Munisight, etc.;
    • Support services for Microsoft Technologies like Windows 11, Windows Server, Exchange, Office365, SharePoint etc.;
    • Provide continual maintenance of radio, dispatch, tower and telephone networks within Yellowhead County;
    • Provide maintenance, troubleshooting, configuration of County radio/dispatch system;
    • Troubleshoot and replace radios in fleet;
    • Interact and perform network tasks in conjunction with network analysts;
    • Maintain digital files for County GIS, CAD and AVL mapping systems;
    • Analyze, research, and record new equipment purchases;
    • Provide support to the I.T. department and be cross trained to fill in during vacations and absences;
    • Disposal of all obsolete or redundant computerized equipment by an approved means;
    • Manage and provide assistance with user access security;
    • Provide technical assistance regarding hardware, software, and applications in person, via telephone/email and/or remotely;
    • Maintain inventory of all hardware, software and applicable equipment, and ensure hardware and software is kept current and functional;
    • Ensure, at a minimum one day in advance of any meeting, that all electronic equipment in Council Chambers is functional and ready for use;
    • Assistance on Council meeting days is to be a priority and one of the Systems Analysts must be available until the meeting has commenced;
    • Coordinate and conduct training;
    • Perform other related duties as required.
    Administrative
    • Ensure all paperwork, purchase order information and billing is processed properly and in a timely manner;
    • Ensure all system documentation is current and accurate;
    • Assist with the development of all information technology policies and procedures;
    • Participate in the preparation of the annual IT and Radio budgets.

    Requirements:

    Education/Skills
    • Post-secondary education in Computer Sciences or System Administrator or Computer Science Certification;
    • Minimum of one (1) year PC hardware, software applications and troubleshooting experience;
    • Minimum of two (2) years experience working for a government organization or similar;
    • Radio system training is considered an asset;
    • Experience with various Microsoft technologies including O365 is preferred;
    • Experience with any Dispatching Systems such as FDM, Radio Over IP, and AVL is considered an asset;
    • An ability to configure computer hardware, installing devices and cards, troubleshooting problems, and maintenance considered an asset;
    • A strong understanding of applications like QGIS, Avanti, Questica, Dynamics, Pearl, MuniSight etc. considered an asset;
    • Experience with .Net programming is considered an asset;
    • Valid Class 5 driver's license;
    • Completion of Defensive Driving Course.

    Working Environment:
    • Work is conducted in both an office setting, shop and field setting;
    • Site visits to County facilities;
    • Physical lifting, ladder work, climbing, man lift, and other outside duties required on a regular basis;
    • Work as part of an on-call rotation that provides 24/7 support;
    • Work nights and weekends, as required.

    Additional Job Information:

    Salary Range: $71,688 - $88,893
