About Us:


Facilities Management is responsible for the
planning, development, construction, operation, maintenance, and stewardship of all the buildings, infrastructure, sites, and services within Western's campus community.

We work closely with campus partners to coordinate new construction and renovation projects as well as to complete maintenance and service requests.

Facilities Management maintains over 9 million square feet of space in 100+ buildings that are joined together by 16kms of roadway and sidewalks situated on more than 500 acres of land.

Our division employs 450 members in a variety of capacities and provides services including:


  • Campus mail services

  • Client Service work requests

Responsibilities:

Client Services - FM Division Highlights


Responsibilities:


The Summer Student will assist within the Client Services portfolio of Facilities Management which includes the Stores and the Customer Service Center.

The incumbent will primarily be responsible for supporting the Stores operation by delivering trades and caretaking supplies throughout campus, assembling orders, stocking inventory and performing spot check counts.

As a secondary function, the Summer Student will support the Customer Service Center (Client Services) with key processing, database updates and other administrative tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:

Education:

Currently attending school and returning full-time to post-secondary studies in the fall. Preference will be given to Western Students.


Experience:


Preference will be given to those with previous experience working in a warehouse/delivery environment using material handling equipment and those with customer service experience.


Skills & Expertise:

  • Knowledge of the Division of Facilities Management and Western University's campus
  • Previous experience performing physical work
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Proven ability and natural inclination to interact with people in a respectful manner
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Possess a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Required: G2 Driver's License, clean driver's abstract, and successful completion of POET (Post Offer Employment Testing)
  • Preferred: knowledge of Western University's campus and the Division of Facilities Management
