Job Summary:

The Equipment Specialist will be responsible for the MTL equipment maintenance program. This includes equipment maintenance, liaising and managing the relationship with external vendors/suppliers relating to equipment.

This position will report to the Senior Director of Operations & Innovation Center and will be based in Montreal, QC.


Responsibilities:


  • Conducts maintenance, repair, and calibration on shared & adMare's own equipment.
  • Records and maintains data within the equipment management program including the master inventory, equipment information records, installation and maintenance records, service histories, costs and terms of maintenance contracts.
  • Schedules manufacturer equipment maintenance activities with vendors and supervises work.
  • Evaluate/Review service contracts and internalize service for instrumentation currently covered by contract through conducting applicable research to determine feasibility and degree of difficulty
  • Develop routine protocols for instrument verification and performance qualification
  • Assists equipment data integration with UpKeep, QReserve & other equipment related softwares
  • Defines, documents, and conducts routine maintenance for laboratory systems (point of use) such as purified lab water, autoclaves, and robotic systems.
  • Maintains parts inventory
  • Assist end users with operational training when required
  • Responsible for coordination with Building Operations to ensure facilities are appropriately prepared prior to equipment arrival or relocation and integrates critical monitoring systems as necessary.
  • Writes equipment operating procedures.
  • Trains users in routine verification procedures.
  • Receives, unpacks and commissions new equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • A BSc in Mechanical Engineering, precision instrumentation engineering, or a related discipline and a minimum 5 years of recent, directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Biotech or pharmaceutical experience an asset.
  • Metrology an asset.
  • Customer focused.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Health and Safety Regulations an asset.
  • Fully bilingual in English and French

Position Base Salary Range:
$56,200- $84,300
