The Human Resources, Process Excellence Team is looking for a Manager HR Process Excellence.


Reporting to the Director, HR Process & Systems - the Manager HR Process Excellence will be responsible for HR Operating Model and Continuous Improvement aligned to Human Resources.


The Manager Process Excellence, Reporting to the Director, Process and Systems, this is a newly formed HR role that will lead the identification, development, and deployment of critical end to end HR process and productivity improvements working closely with HR business leaders.


What you will do

  • Identify and assess opportunities to drive value (quantitative and qualitative) from HR process and productivity improvements
  • Form and lead crossfunctional teams (COEs, Operations, Systems and Technology) to reengineer existing processes that will:
  • Support, modernize and enable the evolution of HR Canada's Operating Model
  • Support and deliver process improvements associated with HR technology platforms strategic roadmap
  • Promote and embed a culture of process improvement throughout the HR Function
  • Assess current state level of HR functional process maturity
  • Evaluate HR process design and delivery capabilities
  • In tandem with L&D, design a training program to build process improvement capabilities
  • Create a plan to embed and sustain a continuous process improvement mind set with integration into HR strategy and goals
  • Mentor LSS Green Belt and promote continuous improvement culture

Core competencies

  • Employ Lean Six Sigma methodology, tools, and practices to define business objectives, develop business cases, validate hypotheses, and complete value stream mapping (Lean Six Sigma black belt considered an asset)
  • Good understanding of project lifecycle methodologies, including traditional waterfall and agile frameworks
  • Lead initial high level opportunity scoping, cost/benefit estimation, and business case development
  • Lead requirements gathering for different types of requirements (i.e., functional requirements, technical requirements, and nonfunctional requirements)
  • Demonstrated experience in future state process design including capturing concise and collectively exhaustive functional requirements
  • Demonstrates experience in solution design
  • Is an active practitioner (e.g., attends relevant industry conferences to stay up to speed on process optimization approaches)

What you will bring

  • University degree in the field of engineering or business or related field is preferred
  • 5+ years in a leading role demonstrating process improvement experience
  • 2+ years' experience as a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Financial services/insurance business knowledge is an asset
  • Human Resources process knowledge is an asset
  • Skilled at building strong, collaborative relationships at all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities including ability to coach and support teams
  • High proficiency with Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Minitab to analyze, measure and illustrate and process design improvements.
  • Excellent communication, with experience creating and leading presentations to senior leadership
