HOURS OF WORK:

Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm


SUMMARY OF DUTIES:


  • Performs regular inspections of buildings and rooms assessing risk to students.
  • Liaises with students, contractors, service providers, maintenance and custodial staff to complete repairs or perform service within the residence halls prior to move-in and throughout the year.
  • Maintains control of keys within buildings ensuring security of students and follows up on issues with broken keys or door locks requiring repair.
  • Liaises with departments on summer program dates and requirements to access residence portal.
  • Edits billing configurations in StarRez and processes summer billing into student accounts.
  • Prepares for summer student arrivals and processes check-ins. Assist Residence Life Secretary with creating timeslots for check in and updates to residence website.
  • Approves or denies requests for extended stay in residence.
  • Responsible for mail delivery and distribution to student rooms.
  • Processes check-ins and check-outs with students.
  • Coordinates emergency response procedure in conjunction with residence life staff, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:


  • College diploma in Office administration or related field and/or experience in an administrative support capacity as it relates the duties of the position
  • Ability to prioritize, deal with high volume of requests and meet strict deadlines, both unexpected and planned.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relation skills including a high degree of cultural sensitivity and awareness of crosscultural issues
  • Experience using a database system i.e. StarRez
  • Valid First Aid/CPR or willingness to obtain

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience working with facility maintenance

THE FOLLOWING TESTS WILL BE ADMINISTERED:
MS Word (Basic); MS Excel (Basic); Typing (30 NWPM)

$29.64 per hour
