City Experiences is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator for our Niagara City Cruises operation in Niagara Falls.

About the Opportunity:


The
Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department, primarily focusing and providing HR strategic support.

You will work both independently and on collaborative work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

A strong problem solver, you will be a self-starter with strong attention to detail and a passion to learn and grow within the company.

The Human Resources Coordinator reports to the Regional Director, Human Resources.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • This position will be the first point of contact for employee relations matters and recruitment and will provide support to the management team with our overall people strategy.
  • Coordinates and facilitates recruitment activities including prescreening, testing, scheduling interviews, reference checks and document signing
  • Monitors employee climate to identify issues/trends; counsel managers on identifying issues and implementing corrective actions, while also seeing opportunities to increase engagement
  • Provides HR administrative support to the City Cruises Canada Human Resources team
  • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets HR related data for report generation and management decision making, links HR action plans with business needs
  • Provides accurate, timely responses to employee and management inquiries regarding policies, employment legislation, benefits, and payroll
  • Assists with the employee contract renewal process with the operations team to include identification of high potentials as well as below standard performers, succession planning, promotions, transfers; creates appropriate action plans
  • Provides accurate, timely responses to employee and management inquiries regarding policies and employment legislation including both Federal and Provincial legislation
  • Provides support to the Regional Director, Human Resources and HR Generalist and completes assigned tasks.
  • Assists with employee recognition events
  • Represents the Company at community events, including job fairs
  • Maintains uptodate employee records and files (electronic)
  • Handles special projects
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable employment legislation
  • Adheres to all health and safety regulations
  • Works with a safety mindset by following all safety policies, procedures and safety measures (i.e. PPE). Identifies and brings forward risks, hazards and opportunities on the job. Actively participates in health and safety in the workplace
  • Maintains a neat, clean and wellgroomed appearance (refer to appearance standards in employee handbook)
  • Reports to work on time and for all scheduled shifts
  • Understands all policies and procedures relating to the employee's role within the company
  • Maintains any applicable licenses and certifications
  • Completes any other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:


  • University degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Working towards CHRP designation (an asset)
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in working in a customer service environment, preferably hospitality/tourism
  • General knowledge of various employment laws
  • Previous ATS experience, previous experience using Ceridian Dayforce considered an asset
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines as required
  • Demonstrated initiative and problemsolving skills
  • Proficient computer knowledge (Microsoft Office
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher)
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 15 pounds (7 kilograms)
  • Walk, stand, sit and work in all types of weather conditions for extended periods
  • If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. nonslip shoes, gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun protection)
