Opportunity:


MacEwan University is seeking a detail-oriented Donor Relations Coordinator for a full-time continuing opportunity with our Alumni and Development department.

Reporting to the Director, Donor Relations, you will work collaboratively as part of the Donor Relations and Development teams to support advancement and university goals, providing coordinated project management and critical organizational and analytical support to the team for existing projects, process improvements and new initiatives related to fundraising and stewardship.

You will interact with key donors, staff, and faculty to ensure gift agreements align with the priorities and goals of the University as well as the intention and passion of the donor.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a central point of contact for project and donor fundrelated communications and to address questions about existing donor funds;
  • Developing and maintaining administrative and operational procedures specific to each program/project related to fundraising and stewardship, supporting both the Development and Donor Relations teams;
  • Managing and evaluating processes, projects, and other key outputs through benchmarks and metrics, ensuring key standards are met and providing recommendations as needed;
  • Developing recommendations to implement systems and processes throughout the full donor cycle to ensure a consistent and responsive donor experience;
  • Monitoring and tracking project timelines and milestones, and managing project resources, including personnel, budget, and materials;
  • Working closely with the University's finance office, program administrators, legal counsel, executors, and estate solicitors to ensure timely administration of various types of gifts;
  • Managing and reviewing existing donor gift agreements, ensuring they are documented and met, and creating new gift agreements with donors as needed;

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, like business, project management, fundraising, finance, commerce, or public relations.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in project coordination or a related role.
  • Experience working in a professional fundraising environment, building relationships with donors and other stakeholders.
  • Experience reading and analyzing endowment financial reports and other financial statements.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating donor recognition plans, and preparing donor financial and impact reports.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
