Description

The St. Joseph's Health Centre site of Unity Health Toronto is opening up a state of the art Palliative Care Unit.

This 10 bed unit will support patients with a palliative care diagnosis who require pain and symptom management and end of life care in a tranquil environment.

This position offers a unique opportunity to be a part of this units foundational care team.

Qualifications:

Secondary school diploma required.
Recent experience as a Unit Clerk or other clerical experience.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of medical terminology required with a Certificate in Medical Terminology preferred.
Working knowledge of Meditech, MediPay, and Teletracking preferred.
Basic mathematical/numerical skills and experience ordering supplies.
Polite & efficient telephone manner.
Proven ability to work independently and show initiative.
Able to work well under pressure & cooperate with all Health Centre staff and patients.
Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work in an environment with death and dying issues.
Satisfactory attendance record.
