    Description

As a Nondestructive Examination (NDE) Coordinator you will facilitate the effective execution of Nondestructive Examination (NDE) work at the Saint John Refinery. Your goal will be to improve contractor productivity, measured by time-on-tools studies, improvement of scheduled compliance, and continuous reduction of barriers that impede productivity.

    What We Offer:

    • Work Environment – Work and grow within Canada's largest Refinery, with strong safety culture, access to a fitness facility, an onsite medical team, and a café.
    • Competitive Compensation – Including an annual bonus plan, and pension plan.
    • Flexible Benefits Plan – in effect from day one and offers three levels of coverage to select from to meet your unique, personal needs.
    • Wellness Support – With an annual wellness allowance, paid personal care days and a 24/7 Employee & Family Assistance Program
    • Opportunity to give back to some amazing causes in our community – Choose when and where to make an impact with a paid volunteer day, company volunteer opportunities, and a donation matching program.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Proactively identify issues and barriers that could impact productively and resolve them.
    • Develop and implement performance improvement plans with contractors and other stakeholders to improve Nondestructive Examination productivity.
    • Manage contractors' performance, monitor and direct their activities; primary point of contact between the Refinery Nondestructive Examination team and contractor. Hold contractors accountable for performance; mediate conflicts by proactively communicating with contractors and individuals regarding performance in a respectful manner.
    • Define, implement, and manage performance metrics used to evaluate contractor performance. Work with Supply Management post-AWARD to ensure contractors are evaluated with the right performance metrics. Act as a consultant for Supply Management when evaluating service contracts.
    • Monitor and audit activities to ensure key timelines are achieved.
    • Validate weekly schedules and NDE manpower requirements for accuracy.
    • Review field conditions prior to execution of Nondestructive Examination activities to validate planning packages.
    • Validate and approve NDE contractor timecards.
    • Validate and approve all additional charges (vehicles, tools, equipment, etc) by NDE contractors.
    • Develop and manage resource risk assessment processes and procedures. Execute resource risk assessments and communicate to stakeholders.

    Your Skills:

    • Analytical and planning skills: able to identify skills required in a very complex environment, see gaps and create plans to address them.
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Able to adjust communication style to meet the needs of different stakeholders, keep everyone on the same page, and avoid silos.
    • A comprehensive understanding and practical experience with the sequencing and prioritization of tasks associated with performing Nondestructive Examination activities on refinery equipment.
    • Ability to proactively build close working relationships with contractors and other on-site personnel to ensure everyone is set up for success. Skilled in conflict resolution.
    • Strong planning and analytical skills; able to see inter-related Nondestructive Examination tasks and maximize resource time and utilization.
    • This position requires you to be in the field so you must be able to work outdoors, year-end, in all weather conditions.
    • You must be able to walk over uneven ground, bend, stoop, crawl, stand, climb high elevations, enter confined spaces, and wear all PPE as required.

    Your Experience:

    • Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology, trades or equivalent experience
    • Minimum 10 years of experience working in an industrial environment.
    • 5 years experience in Nondestructive Examination activities within oil and gas industry
    • 5 years experience in supervising staff to achieve effective job execution
    • 5 years of Superintendent level experience in the trades
    • 5 years of experience in a leadership role in a multi-trade industrial environment.
    • Familiar with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.
    • Proficient with MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
