Excellent interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with students, families, community partners, school administration, school staff, and other stakeholders

Strong planning and organizational skills

Demonstrated experience with differentiating instruction and assessment as well as creating and implementing alternative programming

Prior leadership experience, including PAR positions

Experience working with diverse student populations with varying needs and strengths

Knowledge of local needs/ awareness of community

Ability to provide direct instruction to students requiring program modifications and accommodations through a literacy and numeracy approach

Ability/experience conducting diagnostic assessments to inform planning and instruction

Knowledge and experience implementing effective accommodations and modifications

Knowledge and competence with the use of assistive technology and learning software

Experience using LDSB Virtual Learning Platforms and other relevant technology to support student learning (e.g. Minds Online/D2L, Microsoft Teams, etc.).

Experience with co-teaching

Experience leading peers - recent related professional development, specifically leading PD

Evidence of understanding of the learning cycle

A current resume outlining your experience and key accomplishments

A covering letter clearly outlining how your qualifications and experience relate to the position

A copy of your current Certificate of Qualifications from the Ontario College of Teachers


In the opening paragraph of your cover letter state whether you are an OT or contract teacher, your areas of qualification, and any current contract entitlement with LDSB.
