About the Program

The Ismaili Centre Portfolio's mandate, under the Council for Canada, includes promoting the usage and increasing the utilization of the 2 Ismaili Centers (Toronto/Vancouver), Aga Khan Garden Edmonton and Aga Khan Park (AKP) Toronto. This listing is focused on AKP, which is situated between Ismaili Center Toronto and the Aga Khan Museum. The Aga Khan Park covers 17 acres of land and connects the Ismaili Centre, Toronto and the Aga Khan Museum. It offers a unique perspective on Islamic architecture, with traditional elements represented in modern perspectives. It was launched in 2015 with the following objectives:

A place of open community engagement, spearheading cultural dialogue in multicultural Toronto.

Maintain a uniqueness among parks that attracts families, passively delivering Islamic values.

Utilized year round with a full calendar, including city and other community events.

Managed, operated and programmed in fiscally responsible manner.

Add to the park infrastructure where merited to enhance utilization.

Close collaboration between AKM, ICT, and other city institutions.

Our next steps are to operationalize this plan with a focus on the following areas:

Increase utilization.

Increase revenues through private hires and corporate funding.

Seek government grants.

Engage community to have a sense of belonging of AKP.

Establish a robust structure of finance, operations and human resource teams to support park operations.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Deputy, Marketing Lead will assist in fulfilling the overall Park task of:

Increasing Aga Khan Park's brand awareness.

Increasing Aga Khan Park's utilization.

Increasing lead generation for revenue opportunities: Provide operational support and direction to marketing coordinators.Ensuring messaging and marketing channels are accurate, effective and timely.Collaborating with the marketing lead to create marketing plans.Assist in the implementation of marketing plan and monitor all activities from start to completion.Review and edit content when required.Work with the relevant stakeholders to market events.Work with relevant stakeholders to develop marketing assets.

Attend core team meetings and provide data reporting.

Managing a team of 4-6 people.

About You

Skills and Competencies:

A strong writer who can edit and review content to ensure it meets brand standards.

A comprehensive understanding of marketing and communication function in an organization.

Experience in developing compelling content for diverse audiences, digital marketing, SEO, social media and design.

Experience in working within the Ismaili Institutions and an understanding of the Aga Khan Development Network.

Understand the importance of brand integrity.

Advocate for cross collaboration.

You are agile and know how to work in a dynamic environment.

Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize work and manage multiple projects with high efficiency, accuracy and enthusiasm.

Are based in the GTA and able to make it the Aga Khan Park for events and occasional meetings.
