SUMMARY:

Provides accounting and clerical assistance to accounting department; calculates, prepares and processes bills, invoices, accounts payable and receivable, budgets and other financial records according to established procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains accounting department files and records.
Enters information into accounting data entry system.
Verifies and prepares cheques for mailing.
Assists with monthend close and runs monthly reports as required.
Prepares and posts deposits; balances deposits on bank statements.
Assists with special accounting projects as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Postsecondary education in Finance or Accounting plus one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficient in NetSuite is a must
Knowledge of basic financial, tax, and accounting principles
Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts
Acute attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills.
Commitment to excellence and high standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
