Gateway Mechanical currently has an exciting opportunity for a Plumber Journeyperson/ApprenticeAt Gateway Mechanical, we're focused on providing the best possible customer service in safe, effective, and innovative ways.
Founded in 1968, Gateway Mechanical is a privately-owned company that has established itself as a leader in the commercial and industrial refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning industry (HVACR).
Our model is comprised of local branch teams with fully qualified personnel representing HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing/gas fitting, sheet metal, and electrical trades.
These teams are supported by centers of excellence including professional engineers and project managers which ensures Gateway's full technical capability is available for every project and service call.
The Plumbing Journeyperson/Apprentice will perform quality maintenance services for our valued clients on commercial and industrial sites while showcasing exceptional customer service skills.
They are responsible for providing installation, preventive maintenance, service, and repair on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment in a commercial and industrial setting while show casing exceptional customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Work within commercial and industrial environments such as strata living, National Parks, supermarkets, data centers, refineries, institutions
- Complete the required daily equipment inspections, safety reports, and Field Level Hazard Assessments
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Perform work using hand and power tools in a safe manner
- Read and interpret blueprints, basic spec, and shop drawing interpretation considered an asset
- Maintain clean and operable equipment, vehicle, and work areas at all time
- Maintenance and service of plumbing equipment such as pumps, boilers, and backflows
Experience & Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Plumber certification and wanting to pursue a second trade ticket OR 3rd or 4th Year Plumbing Apprentice
- Service experience required
- Gas A Ticket is an asset
- Gas and boiler experience is an asset
- Valid class 5 driver's license and current driver's abstract
- Valid safety certifications such as First Aid, Fall Protection, Cross Connection Control, WHMIS, TDG, CSTS, PSTS, AWP, H2S Alive, and Plumbing or Electrical Journeyman Red Seal considered an asset
