We are recruiting a Manager of HR and a HR Generalist to shape our company culture, attract top talent, and ensure the well-being of our employees.
For over 70 years EJHS has provided holistic services and wraparound supports that address the root causes of crime and social disorder.
Position Summary
As a HR Generalist, you will report to the HR Manager and be a member of the Operational Excellence Team.
You will have the opportunity to engage in various aspects of human resources, from recruitment and employee relations to training and development.
You will also act as the main HR contact for the Operational Excellence Team.Responsibilities

Recruitment and Talent:Assist with the full cycle of recruitment activities, including job posting, screening, scheduling interviews, and facilitating the onboarding process for new hires. Collaborate with program leadership to identify staffing needs

Employee Relations:Serve as a trusted resource for employees, addressing inquiries and concerns related to HR policies, procedures, and benefits. Proactively engage in employee relations activities to promote a positive work environment

Training and Development:Support the design and delivery of training programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities. Maintain the agency's Learning Management System (LMS) including compliance records.

HR Compliance:Stay informed about employment laws and regulations, working with the Manager of HR to ensure compliance. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to mitigate risk and promote fairness

Benefit Oversight:Administration of the benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Work closely with the Manager of HR on best practice and standards in employee benefit plans

Documentation Management:Maintain employee records and documentation, including personnel files, employee records, and employment policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Postsecondary education in Human Resources or related field required
- CHRP (or actively working towards) designation is considered an asset
- At least two years of experience in HR roles, with exposure to various HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration
- Previous experience in the notforprofit sector or with a community agency is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent organizational and problemsolving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to travel to various program sites within Edmonton
Conditions of Employment
- This position is located at Transition Place, 401, Street
- The hours of work are 8:30 AM 4:30 PM, Monday
- Friday
Salary
The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000 annually.
