    Description

    Job Title: Experienced Estimator

    Company: Our client is one of Vancouver's top civil construction firms, known for their excellent reputation in the industry.

    About the Role:

    • Project values approximately $20 million
    • Deal with various projects including Bridges, Roads and Highways, Excavation and Shoring, Utilities, and Marine

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Estimating Coordination: Lead the estimating efforts for assigned bids/projects
    • Scope Evaluation: Review proposal specifications and attend meetings to determine project scope
    • Project Schedule Review: Assess project schedules for estimation
    • Team Organization: Assemble estimating team and select vendors/subcontractors
    • Risk and Contract Management: Assist with risk and contract responsibilities
    • Cost and Production Forecasting: Daily forecasting of costs and production rates
    • Historical Data Integration: Include historical data in estimates from purchase orders and productivity reports
    • Discipline Estimates Preparation: Calculate takeoffs for discipline estimates
    • Client and Vendor Consultation: Engage with clients and vendors for estimate formulation
    • Addendum Monitoring: Track client addenda for estimate changes
    • Bid Preparation: Prepare bids and select vendors/subcontractors
    • Design Review: Evaluate design options for cost-effective solutions
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with employees, owners, and subcontractors
    • Regulatory Knowledge: Acquire knowledge of project-specific construction regulations
    • Subcontractor Work Review: Review subcontractor task lists
    • Final Estimate Review: Review and finalize project estimates
    • Project Handoff: Transition projects to production team
    • Contract Management: Manage awarded contracts, extra work items, and change orders
    • Scope Change Advising: Advise on significant scope changes
    • Cost Monitoring: Compare actual to estimated costs
    • Project Debriefing: Conduct post-project debriefings
    • Documentation Maintenance: Maintain comprehensive files of working documents
    • Additional Assignments: Perform tasks as directed

    Ideal Candidate Requirements:

    • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree with 5 years experience or 10 years related experience/training
    • Industry Expertise: Experience in construction, design, finance, and management
    • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software

    Only candidates with local experience and authorization to work in Canada will be considered.
