Waste Control Service (WCS) is a private, locally owned, and operated recycling and waste management company offering solutions for sustainable management of all things waste.

We offer collection services and consultation for both residential communities as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional organizations exclusively in the Greater Vancouver region.

We have a head office and shop in Coquitlam B.C.

and recycling yards in North Vancouver where we primary process some of the recycling we regularly collect from our customers, which also operates as a recycling and secure shredding facility open to the community.


Who we are looking for:


Our team is growing, and we are seeking an individual passionate about the environment to work out of our Coquitlam facility.

The Dispatcher is a permanent, full-time position. Hours of work are 9:00am to 5:30 pm, typically Tuesday to Friday and Saturday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Holidays.


The Dispatcher works in a diverse, fast paced position that performs a significant and broad scope of coverage within the Operations Department.

In this position you will handle incoming calls regarding service issues and scheduling requests while advising drivers on the day-to-day work they complete.

This individual must maintain customer relations to the highest standard with highly developed interpersonal skills and be able to deliver clear, concise directions to drivers who call in for assistance while completing their routes.


Dispatch job functions are the primary requirement in this role, answering the company radio, directing drivers to disposal facilities and customer locations while assisting them to perform their routes in an efficient and timely manner.

Working in a team environment will require you to learn aspects of your co-worker's job functions to enable you to provide coverage on occasional weekends and statutory holidays.

This position reports to the Operations Support Supervisor.


Responsibilities:


  • Primary person for answering the 2Way Fleet Radio.
  • Troubleshooting issues on the spot with Drivers.
  • Entering, Routing & Sequencing calls into the appropriate applicable routes.
  • Reviewing of drivers Route Sheets at the end of day.
  • Reviewing that tablet routes are logged out correctly.
  • Updating Customer & Route Information in Trux as required
  • Answering customer calls, inquiries, and requests for servicerelated calls
  • Calling customers regarding operational issues such as call a heads and access issues.
  • Scheduling & printing all Route Sheets with correct operational information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

To be Successful:

  • Experience in a similar rolepreferred but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Able to remain calm while working within tight timelines.
  • Strongly proficient in Microsoft suite and experience working with database programs preferred.
  • Thrives on pressure to deliver immediate solutions to customer related problems.
  • Works in a diverse and evolving group dynamic.
  • Able to cover job duties of fellow Operational Staff members.
