Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, SIS Modernization, the successful applicant will provide leadership by directing and managing project development from beginning to end while adhering to strict deadlines, schedules, quality controls and within budget.

In addition, you will define and manage project scope, goals, milestones and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with all stakeholders including senior management and project team members.


Key Responsibilities

As Project Manager, Student Information System, you will be responsible for supervising the Business/Data Analysts; developing full-scale project plans and associated communications documents; effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion; liaising with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis; estimating the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals; drafting and submitting budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes; creating RFP/RFQ and tender documents as they relate to projects; through the PMO, determining and assessing need for additional staff and/or contractors if necessary during project cycle; setting and continually managing project expectations with team members and other stakeholders; delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel; identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team; identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path; planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools; developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations; determining the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas; proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying potential crises, and devising contingency plans; defining project success criteria and disseminating them to involved parties through the project life cycle; coaching, mentoring, motivating and supervising project team members and outside vendor/contractors, and influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work; building, developing and growing any business relationships vital to the success of the project; conducting project post mortems and creating a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements; developing best practices and tools for project execution and management; other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in business, computer science, information systems, or other relevant field
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Project, Access, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standards, techniques, methodologies, best practices and project management tools
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience supervising a team
  • Very strong planning, reporting and analysis skills required to systematically document and create useful tools that enable effective decision making
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highpressure environment is crucial
  • Prioritize shifting priorities, demands and schedules during times of change through analytical and problemsolving capabilities
  • Excellent listening, coaching, group facilitation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to read communication styles and elicit cooperation of project team members and stakeholders who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
  • Excellent technical, presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal PMP or Prince2 certification is mandatory
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
