Full Time Corporate Planning Lead


HOURS OF WORK:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm (Hybrid)


Summary:


Reporting to the Director, Strategy & Planning the Corporate Planning Lead has proven experience in project related planning/coordinating and understands project management methodology and the value in the utilization of best practice project management tools in scheduling.

The Corporate Planning Lead uses expert knowledge and skills to coordinate the development of the organization's operating plan, reporting process, and maintain an organizational central repository of projects to facilitate increased visibility and enhanced decision making related to organizational resource capacity.

The role additionally also entails leading internal consulting projects, market analysis and strategic intelligence research, working closely with cross-functional teams across the organization.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Integrated Planning

  • Manage a comprehensive reporting process on the progress and outcomes of the projects working to advance GRH's strategic priorities.
  • Draft regular updates, innovative presentations, briefing notes and planning documents to support the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Identify conflicts/challenges resulting from internal and external constraints and presenting recommendations for viable solutions.
  • Identify best practices and continually optimize planning process.
  • Provide planning and support to organizational teams as required.
  • Lead coordination and liaising with organizational team, as needed
  • Provide admin support to the organization's Integrated Planning Team.

Liaising with the Project Management Office (PMO)

  • Work with Project Managers to establish a resource level schedule for projects of varying types, size, complexity and level of risk, in accordance with resource availability.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers/Project Leads in establishing a standard process for the collection of regular updates and developing content for status reports.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers/Project Leads in analyzing scope change requests and whatif scenarios as it relates to schedule impacts from an organizational perspective.
  • Maintain, support and conduct training for the Project Management Office and other teams as needed

Advisory

  • Advise and provide expertise as it relates to the organization's strategic plan.
  • Support ongoing competitive, market analysis, strategic intelligence research and identify benchmarks and trends with the market.
  • Develop and evolve corporate tools/processes that enable project/initiative evaluations
  • Mentor and guide the work of analysts/consultants and proactively offer support, tools, and advice that help them develop as professionals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Engineering, Business or Health Sciences (Clinical organization experience a plus) Required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of project planning experience on mid to largescale projects with demonstrated understanding of project management methods, tools and techniques.
  • Prior experience in top tier management consulting or similar strategy/planning roles strongly preferred
  • Project experience in health care (preferably in Ontario) an asset
  • Certification or working towards Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred but not required
  • Understanding of the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) preferred
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop effective relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to conduct effective briefings and presentations.
  • Excellent conflict management, problem solving, negotiating, change management skills and sound judgment abilities
  • Ability to analyze and interpret healthcare performance data/information
  • Secondary research skills (using academic and grey literature sources)
  • Proactive and customerfocused work approach
  • Demonstrated understanding of budgets, scheduling, planning and business acumen.
  • High level of initiative and decisiveness with the ability to work effectively and meet competing deadline
  • Team player, willing to assist colleagues.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Visio and SharePoint with advanced skills in MS Project and Project Server.
  • Experience with latest digital project management tools an asset
