The Best Western Plus Winnipeg West is looking for a Hotel Laundry Attendant to join our team


Must have a class 5 driver's license:

  • there are no bus routes to the property.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery, including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps.
  • Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard.
  • Inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer, dryer, or drycleaning machines and place in clean linen carts.
  • Set dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabrics contained in load.
  • Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap after each load.
  • Fold cleaned articles into designated size by hand
  • Ensuring good communication within the housekeeping department and other departments of the hotel.
  • Ensuring maintenance deficiencies are promptly reported and recorded.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.

Qualifications:


  • English language skills including verbal, reading and written.
  • Good personal grooming and professional presentation.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and weekends.
  • Able to work a physically demanding position that requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling of greater than 10 kgs and capable of performing repetitive tasks.
  • In good physically condition
  • Must be able to work with mínimal supervision & as a team player.

Wage:
Based on experience.

$15.30 per hour
