Job Scope:

Reporting to the Distribution Supervisor the scope of this position involves the transportation and direct delivery of finished goods to and from locations in a safe and timely manner.

Other responsibilities include loading and offloading trucks and other duties as assigned by management.

Shift:

Rotating schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off), early start (between 2:30-4:30am) and early finish

Key Responsibilities:

Operate trucks and equipment as per standard operating procedures
Completing milk pick ups at farms, no city driving or deliveries
Complete logbooks and run sheets accurately and thoroughly each day
Provide exemplary customer service to all customers
Loading/unloading truck at beginning/end of shift
Cleaning/sanitizing of truck and truck box.
Follow direction(s) as provided by Supervisor
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Valid Ontario Driver's License

- "AZ" classification: "A" license, "Z" Airbrake Endorsement

Minimum high school diploma and/or related CPG or food warehousing experience
Ability to be flexible in terms of shift work and perform other duties as required
Physically capable of performing the demands of the job and ability to multitask
Clean driving abstract
Milk Graders Certificate is an asset, training is also available

Working Environment:
Regular exposure to long duration on the road and frequent interruptions. Majority of work completed during early mornings. Occasional exposure to dust and extreme temperatures.

Physical Demands:
Sitting for extended length of time, standing and walking for considerable length of time. Moderate lifting of materials up to maximum 25 kg.

Signing Bonus:
includes: a two-time payment of $250, less required deductions. One paid within 90 days and another one paid within 180 days of your start date

COVID-19 Considerations:

Enhanced cleaning protocols are in place at all facilities.

For safety, all employees and visitors will continue to be required to wear a company-provided mask in all manufacturing and distribution areas at Gay Lea Foods.
