Cestar College of Business, Health and Technology is a private career college located in Toronto, Ontario. We are dedicated to helping students get the most from their training, and preparing them for successful careers.


The incumbent will provide students with co-op and career counselling, assistance in job searches through seminars and workshops, prepare students for their active co-op term, and maintain _MyCareer_online records system while monitoring students on co-op.


Duties:


  • Meet with students as primary point of contact for coop counselling
  • Hold open office hours for resume dropin and all other career counselling 3. Schedule and hold job search seminars and workshops for students
  • Provide direct assistance to students with preparation of: a) resumes b) cover letters c) mock interviews
  • Manage coop process for students preparing to enter coop term, including all paperwork and access to various college online systems
  • Determine eligibility of job offers for coop and perform accompanying paperwork
  • Evaluate student assignments for coop courses within tight timelines.
  • Incumbent reports directly to the _Manager of Coop and Career Advisors_
  • Threeyear postsecondary Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Social Science diploma/degree;
  • Three years of experience in an employment or human resources field;
  • Solid background in job search techniques, resume writing, and interview skills;
  • Experience public speaking and developing presentations;
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Labour Market, employment trends, and prospect development techniques;
  • Must be a resultsoriented individual with the ability to motivate and inspire self and others;
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal, and relationshipbuilding skills; with the ability to establish rapport with participants, employers, staff and students;
  • Advanced problem solving, assessment and evaluation skills;
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently, must demonstrate a high level of initiative;
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and time management skills including the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to handle confidential and sensitive material with tact and diplomacy, exercise discretion and judgement at all times;
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success and satisfaction;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and being an effective team player;
