Job Summary


The Inventory Team Lead/Supervisor ensures the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the processes within the Inventory department by monitoring and reporting on our company's inventory levels.

He/she will be responsible for spearheading the creation and implementation of robust inventory tracking systems and processes, reviewing levels of supplies, and performing regular inventory analysis.

He/she works with different departments to ensure efficient, smooth, and timely production to meet our discerning clients' needs.

He/she demonstrates superior organizational, high-judgment, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to interpret and analyze large amounts of data.

He/she also supports and facilitates the continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of health and safety processes in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.

The role reports to the Assistant Production Manager and/or Production Manager.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the implementation of the company's transition to an Inventory barcode system. Implement the new process and train team members to ensure a smooth transition with mínimal issues.
  • Responsible for both strategic and tactical planning such as quality and continuous improvement in the current processes.
  • Design, revamp, and/or implement inventory systems/processes to optimize inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the data in the company's ERP (Sage), and create processes to eliminate human errors. Maintain inventory databases and systems to accurately manage inventory.
  • Carefully monitor the levels of supplies and raw materials to proactively determine shortages.
  • Allocate inventory to the appropriate teams as it comes into the facility. May be responsible for arranging pickups and shipments.
  • Track daily deliveries to update inventory and perform regular inventory cycle counts.
  • Prepare detailed inventory reports that document inventory counts, stock levels, discrepancies, and other statistical data.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing department to resolve any discrepancies on received items. Ensure that all paperwork is filled in/processed correctly and follows up when necessary.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Finance & Accounting team by ensuring: inventory accuracy, both physical and in ERP systematically monitoring, validating, and tracking inventory movement associated with all processes.
  • Investigate and escalate inventory discrepancies and strives to continuously refine procedures and processes to improve the quality and accuracy of data.
  • Author and maintain effective Inventory Control procedures.
  • Assist or serve as a backup for the Shipping/Receiving team in managing receivingrelated documents like pickup slips, manifests, packing slips, and any other shipping and/or delivery documents.
  • Supervise the Inventory team ensuring optimal team productivity as well as employee engagement. Train and mentor Inventory staff.
  • Provide strong leadership to the Inventory staff under his/her supervision. Monitor and/or manage employee productivity, absenteeism, and tardiness.
  • Lead the Inventory team and resolve any issues which may arise and which need to be addressed within the Inventory department.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Leadership to organize manpower needed (e.g., overtime, headcount, etc.) if necessary.

Bona Fide Occupational Requirement (BFOR)

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job: Sitting or standing for long periods of time; and lifting heavy loads of up to 50 lbs. (if necessary to assist the team).
  • Excellent hand, eye, and foot coordination.
  • Manual dexterity and good visual abilities to avoid hazardous and unsafe conditions.

Minimum Requirements & KSAOs (knowledge, skills, abilities, and other attributes)

  • 13 years experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or engineering industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business/Commerce, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and ERP/Inventory systems.
  • Analytical mind with strong attention to detail.
  • Unwavering integrity and honesty.

  • Highjudgment skills and problemsolving and multitasking abilities.
