Founded in 1945 by William Easson, Eassons Transport is an industry leader in safely delivering dry, fresh, and frozen shipments to customers across North America.

Eassons maintain terminals in Mount Pearl NL, Sydney NS, Kentville NS, Moncton NB, Albany PE, Belleville ON, and Mississauga ON.


We Are Growing at our Kentville Terminal We are seeking a Dock Hand to join our Team to work with us.


Core duties:

  • Follow company procedures/policies for properly and safely loading and unloading freight
  • Safely operate a forklift to load and unload freight
  • Count freight
  • Ensure proper weight distribution and load configuration of trailers when loading
  • Review freight documents for accuracy
  • Inspect condition of freight
  • Participate in training programs
  • Perform duties in a manner that promotes superior customer service and professionalism
  • 4 days 12 hrs. shift, able to work nights
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:


  • Relevant postsecondary education or a combination of related education and experience is required
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and maintain balance for extensive periods of time
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder and horizontally
  • Minimum of 2 years forklift experience
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Ability to work in varied climates (refrigerated trailers)
  • Effective communication in English, both oral or written
  • 4 days 12 hrs. shift, able to work nights

Education:


  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

- warehouse: 1 year (preferred)
