    We're working on Microsoft Teams - modern collaboration and productivity hub for the workspace. Microsoft Teams brings together real time audio/video conferencing solutions, chat and Office 365 workloads such as Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive and OneNote and integrates them in one product creating smooth user experience.

    Microsoft Teams is built using cutting edge technology leveraging best from Microsoft Research, open source and Azure cloud. Using short development cycles, we ship incremental updates to our customers, collect feedback and metrics and through that iteratively improve the product.

    We are looking for Software Engineers to lead, design, architecture, build, test, deploy, and operate features in production.

    This position is with the Microsoft Teams Enterprise Voice team, which focuses on delivering robust and delightful experiences on the calling space. We have openings in Vancouver, British Columbia

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in front end technologies like Typescript, React, GraphQL, HTML, CSS.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of proven experience in design, coding, testing, problem solving, and debugging skills in any language.
  • Experience with commercial product development with a focus on user experiences
  • Experience working across disciplines, groups, and teams.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle and agile methodologies

    • Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $79,600 - CAD $153,000 per year.

    Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $104,000 - CAD $193,200 per year.

    Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers, product managers, designers, and partner teams to deliver a set of features with the right overall design and architecture.
  • Write clean, well-thought-out code with an emphasis on quality, performance, simplicity, durability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Deliver: Design, implement and operate end-to-end product experiences, drive feature velocity, modularity, component reuse and performance/reliability, in close cooperation with multiple geographically distributed teams across Product, Design, User Research and Engineering teams to deliver complex, large-scale projects.
  • Own: Complete end-to-end ownership through software lifecycle with a focus on solution, code quality and efficiency is expected.
  • Drive technical expertise: Optimize code/application for best performance. Use and promote state of the art technologies, tools and engineering practices; stay on top of latest industry trends, market and user dynamics.
  • Share and contribute: Support and mentor other team members, contribute to team spirit and dynamic growth, actively participate in wider engineering group- and site-wide activities.
