- Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and working with the Process, Manufacturing and Engineering Teams
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Assembly of electrical circuits as per approved design including panel building and field wiring
- Onsite installation of automated solutions
- Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic circuits
- Work in close conjunction with controls technicians during setup and development of PLC, robots and vision systems
- Operational problem solving and seeking out continuous improvements to the process
- Participating in team meetings to review and resolve quality, service, operations, facilities, human resources and health and safety issues, when required
- Assist in the training and development of new members of operations
- Participate in 5 "S" activities
- Perform other related duties as required
- A Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (442A or 309A) and relevant industrial experience
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in Canada is preferred
- Proficiency in understanding electrical/pneumatic schematic drawings
- Understanding of Canadian electrical code, components, and wire sizing etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of the basic and advanced controls' components like PLC, panels and field I/O modules, VFD's, servo systems, etc.
- Understanding of safety circuits and requirements including networked safety
- Familiar with controls nets networks (Ethernet/IP, Ether Cat, I/O link, ASI)
- Knowledge of Electrical design would be an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Must demonstrate patience and consistent attention to detail
- Critical thinking to identify issues, present solutions and follow through to ensure completion
