    Overview

    Come be a part of the Office Growth Acceleration Insights Organization's Customer Experiences Team where you will assist in understanding user experiences with Microsoft365 products, impact products used by millions daily, and help shape the future of Microsoft365. We highly value teamwork, innovation, and support partners across Microsoft365 in making informed decisions based on data.

    We are seeking a Software Engineer with a Big Data background to join our team, Office Growth Activation Team (OGA). Through data, insights, SDKs, and toolchain, we empower Office Engineering Teams to respond to customer feedback, guide future investments, and ensure exceptional customer experiences by delivering modern data solutions and services that enable new Office experiences and informed decision-making.

    What we work on

    • We provide metrics for inferring User's Happiness when using Microsoft365 products.
    • We help products understand user behavior across Microsoft365 Suite segments.
    • We offer signals for Microsoft365 products to identify investment areas that directly impact users.
    • We process billions of events daily, supporting business and product intelligence through scalable systems and data analysis.
    • Our systems underpin Microsoft365's data culture, used across mobile, web, and desktop platforms.

      Qualifications

      Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and coding experience in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

        • Preferred Qualifications

        • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Master's Degree in Computer Science with coding experience in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
        • Coding skills and understanding of Web UX design principles.
        • Knowledge of Data Pipelines such as Cosmos, Kusto, Azure Data Factory, etc.
        • Experience working collaboratively with a team of engineers.

          • Software Engineering IC2 - Base pay range: CAD $63,900 - CAD $126,600 per year in Canada.

          • Develop innovative data engineering solutions and contribute to data democratization.
          • Collaborate with Office Engineering teams to build scalable systems meeting partner needs.
          • Modernize the data platform for scalability, compliance, and cost-efficiency.
          • Work with the Data Science team to productize data science models for Reliability and Growth needs.
