FULL-TIME SERVICE MANAGER POSITION - METRO TRUCK GROUP, MILTON LOCATION


As our trusted brand continues to evolve, the Service Manager is responsible for running an efficient and profitable service department.

Operating the department at maximum production while controlling costs, maintaining records, building loyal clientele, fostering a positive work environment, and meeting financial and safety objectives.

The Service Manager can expect to work indoors and outdoors as necessary to address any specific needs and resolving any customer issues.

Position duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Greet and welcome customers in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Consistently project a positive attitude for the benefit of Metro Truck Group customers and employees
  • Ensure Service department is on target regarding growth and profitability by following price strategy as set out in company operating system
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and product knowledge
  • Encourage and support all department training initiatives; online and instructor lead
  • Review work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
  • Ensure all department tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order
  • Submit service warranty claims within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, 5S and Elite support certified
  • Foster and maintain a cooperative and positive workplace environment, by providing a leadership role within the service department while working alongside shop and field technicians
  • Building a successful Service team by hiring; onboarding and training; motivating; and guiding Service department employees
  • Oversee daytoday service operations, suitably schedule employees based on priorities and ensure work order systems and processes
  • Lead and monitor Service department employees to ensure they are meeting company standards for professionalism, attendance, and work performance
  • Perform work with safety as a priority and abiding by all safety policies and standards set out by the Metro Truck Group of Companies
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures as set out by the Metro Truck Group of companies
  • Uphold strong communication, organization and time management skills; ability to interact effectively with customers and all levels of staff
  • General housekeeping duties

Education & Qualifications:


  • Previous experience as a Technician
    or Service Advisor
  • 310T Truck and Coach license or equivalent preferred
  • Valid Drivers Licensed with ability to reliably commute
  • Refined time management skills, ability to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal, and team building skills
  • Demonstrate effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • Commitment to personal safety and safety of coworkers
  • Ability to have an adaptable schedule as required
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the Service Manager is regularly required to stand; walk; bend; lift
