Summer Student - Information Technology Services (Terrace)

Job description and duties

Duties:

This position will provide the Information Technology (IT) Student with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure to IT best practices.

The IT Student will be responsible for supporting the IT department technicians in various capacities including administrative tasks relating to IT activities with a primary focus on operations.

Tasks will include but are not limited to:

Support with the deployment and decommissioning of technology hardware
Assist with configuration of test environment
Attend and participate in meetings as required
Administrative duties including inventory, research, and other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

Working knowledge of information technology best practices is an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to function effectively across cultures, particularly with the Indigenous communities
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with a willingness to learn and follow instructions
Ability to exercise initiative, selfdevelopment, good judgment, and critical thinking
Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks
