    Description

    The House of Commons Administration delivers outstanding services to Members of Parliament and their employees in support of parliamentary democracy.

    Reporting to the Member of Parliament, the Constituency Assistant will primarily be responsible for providing administrative support services.

    The position is key in helping advance and facilitate the Member's main objectives and priorities through outreach, events planning, and other strategic activities.

    Act as the first line of response to constituents in person, and over the telephone.

    Work in collaboration with the constituency office team in all other related tasks to optimize the work of the MP.

    Post-secondary education from a recognized institution in a related field or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.

    Experience working in an office setting providing reception or administrative support;
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and database management;
    Strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, respond to short-term demands, and adapt to new situations.


    Assets:
    Knowledge of the political environment and/or experience working in a political office setting.

    Language assets:
    Cantonese or Mandarin

    Constituency Office, Richmond, British Columbia

    Hours of Work:
    Full-time (37.5 hours), with occasional evening and weekend work. and work experience and competitive benefits package.
