Background

New Harvest and Amii are now looking for an innovative scientist to address a promising research question at the intersection of machine learning and cellular agriculture during a dedicated residency position for one year.

The Resident will join the New Harvest and Amii research communities, connecting with machine learning and cellular agriculture scientists.

Eligibility

Experience level:
Minimum current masters student

Skills/experience:

  • Machine learning
  • Biology, biotechnology, bioengineering, cellular agriculture
  • Strong applicants will have a track record of engaging in research related to both the fields of machine learning and cellular agriculture. However, their strengths in one area may be stronger than the other. The position is an opportunity to strengthen skills in both areas._
University affiliation is not needed, however access to data (or the ability to generate data) is needed.

**_

Applicants should be committed to working in highly interdisciplinary environments. Appreciation for different methodological approaches and ways of knowing are valued at New Harvest and Amii.

Compensation
Full-time salary, 1 year. Funding for laboratory research may be available if required for the proposed project.

Expectations

Application Process
The data needed to develop the machine learning model must be identified.

_We strongly encourage identifying publicly-available data that already exists._ If new data will need to be generated, a plan and budget to collect the necessary data and complete the machine learning model in one year should be clearly outlined in the proposal.

All components of the project (i.e. model, data, publication) must be openly accessible. The research project should result in an open-access output at the end of one year.

Application Materials

  • Cover letter
  • Resume
