**CASUAL LIBRARY RESOURCE TECHNICIAN

As a collaborative tame member, Casual Library Resource Technicians are responsible for the efficient daily operation of the library services within an educational setting.

**Duties/Responsibilities:
- **

Maintain individual school resource collections including purchasing all print, nonprint and audiovideo resources, cataloguing materials, the circulation of library materials (signout, return renewal), and conducting an annual inventory;
Assist in the monitoring and planning/ preparation of annual estimates for school library needs;
Responsible for sending out overdue notices, compiling lists of overdue materials and users with materials owing;
Bulletin board preparation;
Professional library maintenance, vertical file organization, and technical service requirements;
Shelf reading, book shelving;
Provide assistance with students including library and research skills instruction, reading to students and maintaining routines and rules in the library;
Organize and operate book fairs and other promotional activities;
Assist staff with resources and reference materials as required;
Assist and support Literacy initiatives; and
Other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:
- **

Successful completion of a twoyear community college library technician program plus a minimum of 6 months related job experience;
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work harmoniously with students and staff;
Ability to take initiative;
Familiarity with computers, audio visual equipment and the ability to conduct preventive maintenance;
Keyboarding minimum 35 words per minute; and
Reliable transportation.
