Position Overview


Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Outbound Supervisor oversees day-to-day operational activities regarding Order Fulfilment and customer shipping in the Automotive and Military business units.

The hours for this position will be Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure all employees comply with all required health and safety regulations.
  • Work with lead hands across all shifts to ensure all business units are properly staffed to ensure customer requirements are met and orders are shipped accurately and ontime. Reallocate resources as necessary to meet expected ship dates.
  • Ensure all employees are trained in work processes. Mentor, coach and provide feedback when necessary to continue the development of all employees. Conduct performance reviews for reports.
  • Schedule internal drivers to ensure support of customer and internal expectations.
  • Work with Operations Manager, Planning and Customer Service to address issues impacting daily operational performance and customer expectations. Implement changes as needed to support high levels of customer service.
  • Work with Inventory Supervisor to ensure procedures are followed to maintain high inventory accuracy. Provide resource support as necessary to maximize space utilization.
  • Order materials and supplies needed to support daily business requirements.
  • Ensure warehouse equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities - General

  • Work with Operations Manager on the development and reporting of relevant KPIs to the management team (Order Accuracy, On-Time shipping, Productivity)
  • Development of procedures and training processes in conjunction with the Operations Manager and Inventory Supervisor to ensure adequate crosstraining of staff and coverage.
  • Other duties as requested by Management Team.

Education / Experience:


  • Post Secondary degree/diploma in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or similar. Relevant experience will also be taken into account.
  • Professional designation in a warehouse management/logistics role (APICS or CITT preferred)
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with inventory management software and forecasting strategies.
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes, quality control, P&L, and other techniques for maximizing the effective storage and distribution of materials.
