Summary:

Entry level during which an employee receives both functional and organizational training under close supervision. Incumbents carry out assignments within well-defined practices, procedures and policies.

Works independently on details of assignments, and has limited decision-making authority; most decisions are made or guided by the immediate supervisor.

Decisions/actions may have an impact on the department's/divisions goals.

Works under close Supervision and requires direction on how assignments are to be executed; begins to put forward ideas on how work assignments are completed.

Establishes cooperative relationships to work effectively with colleagues; supports others and participates as a team member, and takes responsibility for own work commitments.

Interacts directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members; engages in routine exchanges of information; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, would be monitored.


Detailed Description:

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Works with users to support and solution new business requirements and system functionality enhancement requests for SCM processes.
  • Analyzes process/system problems and service requests.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and develops proposed solutions.
  • Works with Corporate analysts to ensure commonality across sites.
  • Develops solutions, documentation and training on the new system / process enhancement.
  • Works with IT to implement software code changes.
  • Participates in SCM system testing, verification of output and impact of related systems.
  • Provides system and process support for assigned projects and processes.
  • Supports daily SCM activities by providing queries, information and data.
  • Works with users to support and solution new business requirements for new processes and system functionality enhancements.
  • Maintains responsibility for security access to certain SCM systems.
  • Develops and maintains teaching methodologies for SCM.
  • Develops and tracks timelines for SCM education progression.
  • Designs and develops training for SCM processes and / or new systems.
  • Delivers and facilitates training sessions across the site or globally.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness to ensure results are achieved.
  • Develops headcount/expense plans, and provides monthly tracking and management updates for SCM organization.
  • Develops and implements audit procedures/plans.
  • Coordinates internal audits/ ISO reviews.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:


  • Basic knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.
  • Good knowledge of IT tools, capabilities and systems awareness of new tools and tech.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of adult education principles and course development.
  • Strong facilitation and teaching skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex process/system problems using financial, analytical and statistical models.
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

Physical Demands:


  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience:


  • Zero to two years of relevant experience.

Typical Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Educational requirements may vary by geography.
